What the Bayer had already reported on Sunday is now official: Lucas Alario has extended his 2022 contract prematurely until 2024. A farewell to the Argentinian, which Bayer had committed to River Plate for more than 20 million euros in 2017, is at least for the time being from the table. Most recently, Leverkuseners had also dealt with Sardar Azmoun (26) by Zenit St. Petersburg, but for financial reasons but distance from a commitment. Alario was hitherto been used in 131 competitive games for Bayer and scored 51 goals. Last season, the 28-year-old leads 15 mandatory goal.
