Pokémon TCG announces illustration contest, open to US fans. UU for the first time

A new illustration contest reaches the collectible of Pokémon Juego , with the contest accommodating entries from the United States for the first time. In 2019, Creatures Inc., the manufacturer of the Pokémon collectible card game, launched its first Grand Prix of Pokémon card game illustration, and the participants sent art with the goal of being placed on a Pokémon card. The Grand Prix of illustration returns once again, but this time the registrations are open to residents of Japan and the United States. This year's contest will focus on the subject of drawing a moment in the daily life of a Pokémon. Participants can choose one of the eight Pokémon as focus of his piece: Bulbasaur, Charizard, Pikachu, Arcanine, Galarian Rapidosh, Scizor, Greninja and Cramorant.

The winner of the Grand Prix will receive $ 5,000 and the artwork of him will appear on a promotional Pokémon card. Two finalists, one from Japan and another in the United States, will receive $ 3,000 and their work will also be included in promotional cards. Two second finalists will receive cash prizes of $ 1,000 and will also grant 15 judge awards with a $ 500 cash prize.

Participants must prepare themselves to draw both a Pokémon and the Fund. While the enrollment form recommends drawing only one Pokémon by illustration, artists can choose to include several Pokémon whenever it is clear who is the main theme of the piece. A total of three unique entries can be sent per person.

The contest is limited to adult applicants from the United States and Japan. Registration can be sent between October 13 and January 31, 2022, and the winners will be announced later by 2022. Judges include Tsunekazu Ishihara, President of The Pokemon Company, Hirokazu Tanaka, president of Creatures Inc. Kenji Okubo, president of The Pokemon Company International, and several Official Illustrators of the Pokémon Collectible Letters Game.

The reference art for each of the eight Pokémon can be found on the official website of the contest. You can check the complete rules and regulations on the contest website, which can be found here.
