Tactics Ogre was updated once for the PSP version, whereby the classic was successfully updated with changes that only improved the experience. Ten years later, Reborn will further make the iconic attachment, although the supplements may not be as significant as before. But if you notice their existence, they can only be grateful. For newcomers, this is the best way to get to know the Yaqui Datsun brand, whose timeless game mechanics will still make a lasting impression today.

Medieval political intrigues, great emotions and delightful melodramas are still preserved. Datsun mixes Western history and myths without hindrance, and no one seems to be bothered by the eastern religion. Characters monologues are like a stern summer theater and over-acting is the word of the day. If we go to something, then you always go to the southeast or not at all. Needless to say, this is the best. It's easy to jerk, but Tactics Ogre: Reborn is gratifying just because it knows exactly what kind of game it is.
It takes itself as seriously as necessary, that is, very little. Despite being fooled, the storytelling can still touch. The fates of the characters are in the player's hands and the dramatic pen of Datsun sighs just when you can't wait. While newer publications such as Triangle Strategy are better written, few of them reach such high-flying, which arouses a permanent need to play one more installment just to see what happens next.

Everything has been sharpened and emphasized, even when there is no need for it. Some backgrounds look unnecessarily blurry and the characters' sprites may look downright ugly. But at the same time, the overall picture is pretty to watch, the characters' portraits are stunning, and the upgraded music sounds rugged. The version tested with the Switch console works especially in laptop form without problems, but even small beauty errors on the computer screen are more easily hit by the eye. However, visual bundle is a small part of the big and successful update. The Chariot Tarot mechanism, known from the PSP version, where the player can cancel decisions on the battlefield, will be accompanied by a World Tarot system that allows you to re-try the biggest moments in the story. These moments are the ones where the story branch in different directions based on deeds, and there are many moments. Many cleaners may complain that this is not the right way to play a massive role-playing game, but for us who do not have time to need tens of hours, the addition is just welcome. At the same time, the collection of experience points has been further improved. Grinding, that is, gathering the experience by repeating the same battles, will finally remain in history. There is also no occasional battle on the world map, and the roof of the characters' experience points has been set to a sensible level from the beginning. Many long-line fans have already snapped their nose for these reliefs, but this is how the elderly who have been fan of the series from the SNES may just sneeze for joy. Certain things must change.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn may not be the game that I would recommend for those who are only familiar with the genre. It is a bit like a western godfather trilogy in front of a young viewer when they ask for recommendations about something, for example, Marvel. It is quite possible that it is completely crazy about it, but it is just as likely that one of the characters in this genre is too much for the first experience. But if games like Triangle Strategy have already attracted enthusiasm to get to know the world of strategic role-playing, Tactics Agra cannot recommend enough. It is a major gaming experience that created the foundation for everything that is still used today. Although technical updates are not quite perfect, its game mechanical reforms refresh the old new, which is not ashamed of any modern release. Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a classic for a reason. Now it is the best thing that is available for modern handheld console.
